About this place
At Ryori Shifuku JIYUGAOKA, seasonal ingredients are given thoughtful treatment, with dishes finished in view of the counter. Set-course meals may include fragrant bonito seared over straw, sashimi and sweetfish grilled scales-up for its aroma and texture, alongside less conventional creations such as beef tendon miso beef stew. The à la carte menu also features dishes such as light, fluffy tomato tempura and assorted sashimi, making use of the season’s ingredients.
The drinks list is another highlight. Menu information lists sake such as Hakurakusei Tokubetsu Junmai and Kaze no Mori, kept chilled; Fudo Yamahai Junmai, aged at room temperature; and Niwa no Uguisu Nuruhada, suited to warming. Wine is available too, and choosing a glass with a recommendation tailored to your order can be part of the pleasure.
The restaurant is centred on counter seating, with enough space between seats for a comfortable meal. It suits a relaxed evening of conversation as well as a solo drink. Ryori Shifuku JIYUGAOKA serves dinner only, and seating is limited, so booking ahead is recommended.
